Slavery Act
Modern Slavery Act Statement
Fiscal Year 2025: January 1 – December 31, 2025
Issued pursuant to Section 54 of the United Kingdom’s Modern Slavery Act 2015
1. Introduction
This statement is made on behalf of Avenor Research LLC and its subsidiaries (collectively “Avenor” or “the Company”) for the financial year ending December 31, 2025, in compliance with Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps we have taken to minimize the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within our business or supply chains.
Avenor Research is a professional services firm that provides expert recruitment and qualitative research support to its clients. We specialize in connecting clients with custom-recruited, pre-vetted experts for industry-specific research engagements.
2. Company Structure and Operations
Avenor is a privately held company headquartered in the United States with a fully remote team operating globally. Our business model is focused on recruiting highly experienced professionals for phone consultations, surveys, and other research engagements. The majority of our service delivery is performed in-house or by skilled independent contractors. We do not operate in high-risk sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, or construction, and our supply chain is limited primarily to professional services and technology providers.
3. Our Commitment
Avenor is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. We support the objectives of the Modern Slavery Act and adopt a zero-tolerance stance toward any form of slavery, forced labor, or human trafficking. We expect the same high standards from all of our partners, contractors, and suppliers.
4. Employees and Contractors
All employees are subject to thorough recruitment processes that include verification of identity and right to work. Contractors are engaged via formal agreements that comply with relevant employment and labor laws. We do not charge recruitment fees, nor do we retain passports or personal documents of workers. We have clear internal policies prohibiting unethical labor practices and encourage reporting of any concerns through leadership channels.
5. Expert Network and Advisors
Experts we engage are independent professionals who consult with our clients based on their experience and subject-matter expertise. All experts are subject to a compliance onboarding process, and all engagements are governed by terms that include compliance with applicable laws, including those prohibiting forced or coerced labor.
6. Vendors and Supply Chain
Avenor’s supply chain is limited and primarily includes software, IT infrastructure, HR/payroll services, and legal/compliance support. We assess vendors for legal and ethical risks during onboarding and require compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including those addressing human rights and labor practices. Where appropriate, we request that vendors complete due diligence questionnaires.
7. Risk Assessment and Ongoing Monitoring
While we assess the overall risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chain to be low, we remain vigilant. As we grow, we will continue to review and strengthen our internal controls, supplier onboarding practices, and training to ensure ongoing compliance.
8. Training and Awareness
Although Avenor Research is a small company with limited exposure to high-risk labor sectors, we recognize the importance of internal awareness. In 2025, we conducted targeted training with senior leadership and client-facing team members to review our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act, identify potential risk factors in our vendor relationships, and establish clear reporting protocols.
As the company grows, we will continue to incorporate modern slavery awareness into relevant onboarding and compliance practices for any team members involved in recruitment, operations, or vendor management.
9. Future Steps
As our operations expand, we are committed to:
- Enhancing supplier due diligence to explicitly assess risks related to human trafficking and forced labor.
- Updating internal policies to include explicit reference to modern slavery and related compliance obligations.
- Reviewing this statement annually and updating our approach as needed.
